Paddle Wheel Boat

Side Wheel Paddle Boat

Ok, I am weaving between starting the side wheeler, or going for one more try at the rear wheeler. I am pretty sure I can build a working rear wheeler now, and I hate to feel like I gave up on it when I was so close.

Here is a rough draft of the next project.  The lower hull will be pretty much the same as the last boat with the deck built straight across the entire bottom of upper hull, which will be out as far as the last boat's upper deck. I plan on using 1/2" marine grade plywood for the sides of the hull. I imagine the engine will extend above the lower hull again, so will enclose it within the pilot's console. Going to have a wrap around bench  on the aft walls. Determined to have working rudder, so will have it extend below the hull. ALso will place engin in the center of the boat, wished I had done that on the last boat. If I build the rear wheel paddle boat again, I plan to place the engine in the center as well as the gas tank. This will help stablize the boat.
