Before we begin building inside, I want to get everything sealed with resin.
Cut out wheel support from 2"x10". Needed at least 6" above deck for main wheel gear.
Added some resin filler and then some sanding.
Coat of resin to seal everything.
Finally got new 7" high gas tank, and decided did not want to raise the entire deck . So, that means we can begin the inner deck. Going to splice the plywood subfloor together.
Deck supbfloor done! Must resin it for water seal. Going to make a small box for gas tank.
Deck makes inside look spacious.
Marked aft bulkhead so can start placing gear box, and cutting ports for exhaust and bilge pump.
Added higher winch support pole, and now winch is at proper height. When I used the winch to pull the boat further foward, it moved easily. Had beem worried the boat maybe too light , and do not want to have to lower the paddlewheel, so decided to add a canopy.
Removed the tent and added beams extending 40" above railing.
Using 2x6s, created a box for the gas tank. Added hold down straps for tank.
Gas tank installed. You can see where the bilge pump will eventually go.
Had cut the hole and installed the gas fill before realising it was a top not a side gas fill. Well first hole plugged and new hole going to have gas hose going through starboard rear pontoon.
Got the main canopy support beams installed.
Installed decking strips of 1x4s and stained 1/2" strips. Jst need to give a nice sanding, and then seal with resin.
Got the cross beams up f or the roof. Beams are about 20" apart. Going to have the roof extend 15" over the sides.
Steps to the bow's deck are in. Made them with 12" step heights. Just copied the step ladder we have been using to climb into the boat. Checking out chair placement. Ordered some seats from Bentley web site. Getting two jump seats for back and two back to back pairs for the passenger and driver seat. So will have a total of 6 seats.
Lumber yard only had 3 sheets of the 1/2" marine grade plywwood in stock. Got to wait for Monday for the rest.
Cut hatched for the rope and anchor wells.
Cut hatched for the rope and anchor wells.
Back from a nice warm cruise to the Gran Camines. Got back to a suprise of snow. We had gotten the roof finished and while I was gone, the guys sealed and resined all exposed wood.
